I thought this would be the best community for me to add these pictures to even though the building isn't stricty "abandoned". However, it's not in every day use although it is open once a month and also, I think, by appointment. I doubt it's used as a bath house any more either. Here's the website link for it: http://www.chrishobbs.com/sheffield/birleyspahistory.htm . Birley Spa Bath House is about half a mile from where I live in Sheffield. I'm going to try and get down on one of the open mornings and get some pictures from inside if possible. I took the following pictures a couple of days ago when the snow here was heaviest (so far!). There's a fair bit of light pollution on some of the pictures, but I didn't want to take them all with a flash on because of the still-falling snow. I've also included some of the lake and scenery behind the bath-house. You can see from this pic that it was quite snowy (and a bit cold!) when I started to take the pictures. This is the front of Birley Spa Bath House. ( Cut due to image-heaviness )There's also a house at the bottom of the drive. I don't know if the occupants act as care-takers for the bath-house, but I didn't take any pictures of this as there are still people living there.

Once again, this list is a complete copy/paste job from facebook. How would I ever remember anything that happens in my life if the internet didn't keep track of it for me? ( Films of 2009 )Now all that is left is my TV of 2009 post... which, if previous years are anything to judge by, will probably take me like a week solid... um, the silver lining to my current unemployment, I guess? does anyone know if there's some way to do a live-feed with a FLIP camera or a normal digital camera (recording video)...?
specifically, can I do a live webcast in this way? Also, can I do a live demonstration at a convention this way...? what would I need to do this sort of thing? I guess I could always use a WACOM with a laptop hooked up to projection, but I prefer to draw/color by hand and not on the computer for demos.
I know we used to have drawing demos at calarts with cameras hovering over physical drawing desk.... hooked up to a projection system, but I don't know. my geek-fu is lacking. Tags: computer, conventions Current Location: homeCurrent Mood: curious Current Music: La Vie en Rose - Louis Armstrong

This will be a regular, perhaps nightly feature.
Today: Work: Rough. It's been rough all week Shower. Love my shower. Weight Watchers. Down 4.8 lbs! This puts me at 265.0. (264.2 is my low) Dinner: out for 'za with Mudd Scent of the day: Bordello. A decadent, deep perfume, lusty and luxuriant. The scent evokes images of velvet-lined Old West cathouses, tightly laced corsets, rustling petticoats and coquettish snarls of pleasure. Bawdy plum with amaretto, burgundy wine and black currant. Smells like Bonne Bell's Sugar Plum lipgloss that I wore in 7th grade...very iffy on this one but Dollface likes it on me. Writing: edited Showdown at Yellowstone River. 505 words on the airship pirates. Count=23530 FLYing: made bed, shined sink, did the Kitchen Mission (scrub counters). Had kids do the laundry mission. Reading: Deviations IV: Bondage by Jodi Payne and Chris Owen Tarot Meditation for the Day: Six of Swords. A young man sits in a swan boat propelled by a spectre toward a green island, six swords in the gunwales. Movement away. Coming out of danger or the past. Alternatively, simply getting by. Functioning without dealing with the problems. The blues.
Tomorrow: Work Gas up car Shower Dinner Writing FLYing Laundry Cancelled out on ShadowCon
Current Mood: busy
